You probably hear this a lot but i'm most likely the biggest Harry Potter fan you'll ever meet. The verse I created above, let me explain. The cursed child remains just that, a cursed child on a franchise that has so much potential. In my opinion, it tries living up to the hype of its predecessors as far as being in universe. But there is too much that differentiates it from the original story telling franchise, and a lot of the magic is lost in the moment.

I got used to the script format as opposed to the standard novel, however the content, what the characters say and how they act just doesn't feel like its from the Harry Potter universe.



 The script writers have definitely raked in the money by using the Harry Potter name, with JKs blessing of course. But truly, in my humble opinion, they have tarnished the legacy of Harry Potter, splitting fan groups down the line of those that consider this canon, and those that consider it to be just a glorified fanfic developed into a play. Sadly, I am leaning towards the latter side, however, it does leave the door open for future Harry Potter releases which is good news for all fans on either side.

I'd have to rate it a 6/10 (being generous because its still technically canon *sigh*)
